Their strengths such as a greatly reduced screw-in torque and the very low splitting effect are particularly in demand in wood construction, as due to the generally installed large wood dimensions, a quick screwing in of the wood screws means a real time saving. We make use of this especially in structural timber construction, where our partial and fully threaded screws are used for heavy-duty and durable wood connections. The great advantage of such a screw connection is that the usual sheet metal parts and fittings for the wooden connections are completely eliminated. In addition to the economy – fittings often have to be completely nailed out – the much more pleasant pure wood look also plays an important role. This means for you: you save a lot of money on expensive wooden connectors, which are not beneficial to the look of a wooden structure. Heavy duty and durable wood joints can be made in the easiest way. High holding forces are especially important for screwing stairs, wooden components or laths in the roof and wall. This is what our universal screw with flat head and partial thread. The large SPAX plate head pulls two components together with great force, while the optimised partial thread is matched to the high load capacity of the plate head. We have matched the shaft length to the most common wood thicknesses. The interaction of large plate head and optimised partial thread makes it possible to reduce the screw diameter (5 mm instead of 6 mm) with the same load capacity. Of course, this benefits the screw-in speed. This means for you: for the same use, smaller screws are enough, saving weight, time and cost.
